Our design and build team collaborated closely with the Fit Partnership in Esher to transform an old furniture showroom into a high-end, multi-functional wellness and fitness facility. Early engagement with the client allowed us to fully understand their operational requirements and design aspirations, enabling a seamless transition from concept to construction. The initial stage focused on creating a large open space as the foundation for the bespoke wellness journey.

Using the existing drainage infrastructure as a guide, we strategically positioned new bathrooms and service areas before designing the rest of the space around these anchor points. The facility includes an innovative endless pool for running and constant swimming in a compact footprint, as well as multiple infrared saunas (one-person and three-person), a ten-person classic sauna, cold showers, and two ice plunge pools to support a complete recovery experience. Male and female changing areas were equipped with two showers each, while unisex toilets and two red light therapy rooms were integrated along a shared corridor.

The main gym space was designed for both strength and functional training. We installed a six-station squat rig, free weights, Carol bikes, Vasper systems, and maximal strength machines. Specialist recovery equipment, including a hyperbaric chamber and cryogenic chamber, required careful consideration for absolute humidity and temperature control (below 30% relative humidity and 20°C) to ensure operational integrity. Off the basement feature staircase, a reformer Pilates studio was created with a calming, lodge-inspired aesthetic, while a combined yoga and boxing studio doubles as an EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) training space.

The upper floor features a public juice bar/café anchored by the feature staircase and a striking chandelier, enhancing the overall ambience and creating a welcoming environment. Off the fire corridor adjacent to the café is a treatment area with five bespoke treatment rooms, a private consultation room, and flexible operable walls for couples treatments. One treatment room was designed to meet full CQC requirements for GP use. All glazed partitioning contains switchable privacy glass, balancing transparency with discretion.

Throughout the project, we implemented extensive custom joinery. This includes the fluted juice bar counter with solid surface tops, in-built banquette seating, bespoke kitchens in each treatment room, lockers and benches in the changing areas, and full-height frosted glass doors in showers. Every finish was designed to be soft, neutral, and luxurious, with warm white lighting highlighting key areas. Floor-to-ceiling glazing ensures visibility of the rehabilitation pool and Pilates studio from the main floor, as well as the cryotherapy chamber.

The completed facility offers a fully integrated wellness and fitness experience, combining high-performance gym equipment, recovery spaces, treatment rooms, and public amenities in a coherent, luxurious environment. From structural alterations and floor layout to bespoke joinery, M&E systems, and feature lighting, the project demonstrates our ability to deliver complex, design-led wellness and fitness facilities that meet both operational and aesthetic goals.
