Our design and build team was engaged to transform the former factory in Skelmersdale into a modern, functional, and visually striking office environment for Green Parts Specialists. The project required a careful balance of structural work, contemporary office design, and integrated services to deliver a fully operational, state-of-the-art workplace.

The project began with partial demolition of the old factory and the construction of a new slab to support the modernised space. We erected curtain walling to create a light-filled atrium and installed a block and beam floor to create a functional first-floor level. A key feature was the cantilevered steel staircase with glass handrails, connecting the two floors and providing a dramatic focal point while allowing natural light to permeate the space.

The interior layout was fully reconfigured to support modern working patterns. We installed glazed partition walls to separate private offices, meeting rooms, and open-plan office areas while maintaining a sense of openness and transparency. Two main open-plan offices, four private offices, and two meeting rooms were created, alongside breakout kitchens on both floors, providing flexible collaborative and social spaces for staff.

A comprehensive M&E upgrade was undertaken, including a full new HVAC and air conditioning system, extensive power distribution to support flexible desk layouts, a full AV system, lighting upgrades, and a fire detection system. The open atrium required the design and installation of a smoke extract system, complemented by a rear staircase housed in a 1-hour fire-rated compartment to meet safety requirements.

The sanitary facilities were fully fitted, with male, female, and DDA-compliant toilets on the ground floor. High-spec IPS systems and cubicles were installed, with custom solid-surface vanity sinks and halo mirrors in the MFC. Finishes throughout the space included LVT and carpet, high-quality lighting, and bespoke furniture solutions including desks, chairs, reception desk, and boardroom tables, ensuring both functionality and design cohesion.

Externally, the project included car park lining, tiling, and landscaping works to enhance the site’s presentation. The result is a modern, professional, and fully integrated office environment that supports staff productivity, collaboration, and wellbeing. From structural works and floor construction to interior fit-out, M&E systems, furniture, and AV, the project demonstrates our ability to deliver a complete turnkey office solution.
